Findings from a Statewide Survey
Join Dr. Chanee Fabius from the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health who will present her findings from a statewide survey of Maryland-based residential service agency administrators conducted between February and June 2021. Findings will include information about agency characteristics, challenges and supports related to caring for people with dementia, and experiences related to navigating the COVID-19 pandemic.
About the Speaker
Dr. Chanee Fabius
is a gerontologist and health services researcher whose interests are informed by prior care management experience, where she worked with families to help older adults remain at home and delay the need for nursing home care. She is interested in: (1) better understanding networks of care used by older people and how those may vary by race and socioeconomic status, (2) examining the effect of community-based LTSS utilization on quality of life and health service utilization across diverse groups of older adults, and (3) strengthening the direct care workforce that provides services and supports to vulnerable older adults. She completed a two-year AHRQ-funded T32 Postdoctoral Fellowship in the Center for Gerontology and Healthcare Research at the Brown School of Public Health in 2018. She earned her PhD in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Connecticut in 2016.
